How to Update a Video Thumbnail in Foto Owl
Learn how to update the thumbnail for uploaded videos in Foto Owl — choose a custom image from your device so guests see the right preview before playing each video.

Updating a video thumbnail in FotoOwl lets you control the preview image guests see before playing a video. Open your dashboard, navigate to My Events, and select the event containing your uploaded videos. On each video, open the three-dot menu and click Update Video Thumbnail. Browse and select a photo from your device to set as the new thumbnail — the change is applied instantly.
Steps
Open Your Dashboard
Log in to your FotoOwl account and open the Dashboard.
Go to My Events
From the dashboard, click on My Events. Here you will see a list of all the events you have created.
Select the Event
Click on the event that contains the videos you want to update to open it.
Locate Your Uploaded Videos
Inside the event, you will see all your uploaded videos displayed in the gallery.
Open the Video Menu
On the video you want to update, click the three dots (menu icon) to open the video options.
Click Update Video Thumbnail
From the menu, select Update Video Thumbnail. You will then see an option to browse files on your device.
Select a Thumbnail Image
Click browse and select the photo from your device that you want to set as the video thumbnail.
Confirm the Update
Once the image is selected, the thumbnail will be updated successfully. The new preview image will now appear on the video in your event gallery.
Key Notes
Before You Update
You can set any image from your device as a video thumbnail — it does not have to be a frame from the video itself. Update thumbnails individually for each video using the three-dot menu. The new thumbnail is visible to guests as soon as the collection containing the video is published.
