Delete Photos and Collections in Foto Owl

Overview

Process Summary

FotoOwl gives you flexible options for managing and removing media from your events. Open your dashboard, navigate to My Events, and select the event containing the photos or collections you want to remove. You can delete photos entirely from the event, remove them from a specific collection while keeping them in the event, or delete an entire collection — with the option to delete the photos inside it as well. Each action is confirmed before proceeding, so you stay in control of what gets removed.

Steps

Open Your Dashboard

Go to My Events

From the dashboard, click on My Events. Here you will see a list of all the events you have created.

Select the Event

Click on the event from which you want to delete photos or collections to open it.

View Photos and Collections

Inside the event, you will see all uploaded photos and your created collections. Click on a collection to view the photos uploaded in it.

Select the Photos

Select the photos you want to delete or remove. A black action pop-up will appear at the bottom of the screen with available options.

Delete Photos from Everywhere

If you want to permanently delete the selected photos from the entire event, click Delete from the action pop-up. The photos will be removed from all collections and the event itself.

Warning

Deleting photos is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you no longer need the photos before confirming.

Remove Photos from a Collection Only

If you want to keep the photos in the event but remove them from the current collection, click Remove from the action pop-up. The photos will be unlinked from the collection but will still be available in the event.

Tip

Use Remove when you want to reorganise photos — you can always add them to a different collection later using Add to Collection.

Delete an Entire Collection

If you want to delete a whole collection, click the Edit icon next to the collection name. You will see an option to delete the collection.

Choose Whether to Delete Photos Too

When deleting a collection, you can also choose to delete the photos inside it. Click Delete photos too if you want to permanently remove all photos in that collection along with the collection itself.

Confirm the Deletion

You will receive a confirmation message. Click OK to proceed with the deletion.

Delete Photos Still in the Event

If you previously used the Remove option, the photos will still be available in the event outside of any collection. To delete those photos completely, select them from the event gallery and click Delete from the action pop-up.

Delete vs Remove

Delete permanently removes photos from the entire event — they will no longer appear anywhere. Remove only unlinks photos from the current collection while keeping them in the event, so you can reassign or delete them later. When deleting a collection, use Delete photos too only if you want to permanently remove all photos inside it. Without this option, the collection is deleted but the photos remain in the event.
