How to Change the Event PIN in Foto Owl

Learn how to change the 4-digit PIN for Guest Access and Full Access in Foto Owl — update PINs from Privacy settings and verify them in the Share panel.

Overview

Process Summary

Every shared event in FotoOwl is protected by a 4-digit PIN that guests must enter before accessing photos. You can view the current PINs for Guest Access and Full Access from the Share panel, and change them anytime from the Privacy settings. Open your event Settings, navigate to the Privacy tab, update the PINs at the bottom, and save. Return to Share to confirm the updated PINs are displayed correctly.

Steps

1

Open Your Dashboard

Log in to your FotoOwl account and open the Dashboard.

2

Go to My Events

From the dashboard, click on My Events. Here you will see a list of all the events you have created.

3

Select the Event and Open Share

Click on the event for which you want to change the PIN. Once inside the event, click Share.

Here, you will see the current 4-digit PINs displayed for Guest Access and Full Access.

4

Go to Settings

To change the PIN, navigate to the Settings tab from the event page.

5

Open the Privacy Tab

Inside Settings, click on the Privacy tab to access PIN and privacy-related options.

6

Update the PINs

Scroll to the bottom of the Privacy settings. Here you will find the 4-digit PIN options for both Guest Access and Full Access. Update the PINs as needed.

Warning
Make sure you do not use the same PIN for both Guest Access and Full Access. Each access type should have its own unique PIN.
7

Save Your Changes

After updating the PINs, click Save to apply the changes.

8

Verify the Updated PINs

Go back to Share on the event page. You will see the updated PINs displayed for Guest Access and Full Access, confirming your changes are live.

Tip
Share the new PINs only with the intended guests. Anyone with the old PIN will no longer be able to access the event after the change.

Key Notes

Before You Change the PIN

Guest Access and Full Access each have their own 4-digit PIN — always set different PINs for each access type. After changing a PIN, guests who previously had the old PIN will need the updated one to access the event. You can also toggle Do Not Ask PIN in the Share panel if you want guests to skip PIN entry entirely.
